EWI Solo

The EWI Solo is a self-contained electronic wind controller and sound source. A built-in speaker and an integral lithium-ion battery rated at 12+ hours of play time mean it can be used without a computer or external amplification.

It ships with 200 onboard sounds covering synth pads through to clarinet. A dial switches the fingering layout between flute, oboe, saxophone and EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument) modes, so players coming from woodwind or brass backgrounds can use familiar fingerings. Users can edit sound parameters, add effects and store their own patches for later recall. A bite-sensor mouthpiece adds another layer of expression.

For connections it has a USB port that also charges the battery and sends MIDI on 16 channels, a 1/4" TRS line output, a 1/8" TRS headphone output and a 1/8" TRS auxiliary input. MPC3 software is included.
