Description

The K72 is an over-ear, closed-back headphone aimed at studio tracking and mixing, with additional use for hi-fi and mobile listening. Its 40mm drivers cover 16 Hz to 20 kHz, and the low impedance lets it run from studio gear as well as portable players. The closed-back construction limits sound leakage, so a click track is less likely to bleed into a microphone.

The headband adjusts itself to the wearer, so there is no sizing mechanism to set. The exposed headband and lightweight ear pads keep the weight at 200 g. The ear pads are replaceable, and the cable is attached to one side only. The headphone is not foldable. The maker describes drop tests, 80,000 cable bend cycles at both ends and repeated 3 W driver bursts as part of its durability testing.

Connection is through a fixed 3 m cable ending in a 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) TRS plug. A screw-on 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) adapter is supplied for larger headphone outputs. The finish is matte black.
