Nero

Nero is a desktop monitor controller built around Audient's console circuitry, designed by David Dearden. Its Precision Matched Attenuation Technology keeps the left and right channel volumes matched, so the stereo image does not drift as the level changes. It can switch between a main pair and two alternative pairs of speakers, with volume set and matched independently for each.

On the input side there are two stereo inputs for interfaces, a dedicated cue mix input, a mini jack input for a phone and RCA inputs for a media player. Four headphone outputs are provided: one monitor-grade amp and three foldback-grade amps. A subwoofer output can be assigned to any speaker path and auditioned on the alternative speakers without losing the saved routing.

Smart Touchpoints let the user route outputs and monitor functions by holding a button, choosing options and pressing again to save. Other controls include a user-defined dim level, sum and difference monitoring, latching Dim, Mono and Talkback buttons, cue mix monitoring and a Smart Mono mode. Talkback works with an internal mic or an external dynamic or condenser mic, and can be sent to selected headphone outputs. The unit has an all-metal body in Obsidian Black.
