The BXD3000H is a bass amp head delivering 300 W from a Class-D power stage, which keeps the weight under 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs). Channel 1 is a clean channel, while Channel 2 has its own gain control for overdriven tones. A Shape control varies the voicing, and the second channel can be used to tailor the sound of a second bass such as a fretless.
Tone shaping comes from a 7-band graphic EQ. When the FBQ button is engaged, the LEDs on the sliders work as a spectrum analyzer and show which bands need adjusting, which helps when tracking down low-frequency feedback on hollow-body, electro-acoustic and upright basses. A compressor modelled on 1970s studio designs adds sustain and evens out peaks, with a status LED showing when the threshold is reached. The Ultrabass processor adds a signal one octave below the input for extra low-end depth.
For connections, the head has an FX insert for outboard gear, a balanced XLR DI output for feeding a PA, RCA inputs for a CD or MP3 player, and a headphone jack. A dual-function footswitch for channel selection and Ultrabass is supplied.
