The DDM4000 is a 32-bit digital DJ mixer with five independent channels. Channels 1 to 4 are stereo, assignable to the crossfader, and have a Phono/Line switch so they can take turntables as well as CD or mp3 players. Each has a 3-band digital EQ with up to 12 dB of boost and a Kill option, plus a PFL switch for headphone monitoring. The fifth channel is a mono mic channel with two XLR inputs, a Talk function that ducks the stereo channels, and its own effects section that can be switched on with one button.
The digital crossfader has an adjustable curve, Reverse Tap and Hold buttons, automatic BPM-synchronized crossfading and a set of three EQ Kill buttons on each side. It can be assigned to any of channels 1 to 4 and is designed to be replaceable. The sampler records a section of incoming audio and loops it in time with the beat, with real-time pitch control, loop and reverse functions, so a loop can keep playing while discs are changed.
Two BPM counters read the tempo of two inputs and drive the beat-synchronized effects, which include echo, bitcrusher, reverb, delay and pitch shift, assignable independently to several channels. The mixer also works as a MIDI controller for DJ software. Preferences such as fader curve, effect settings, EQ and Kill frequencies can be stored in individual user accounts and recalled.
