Description
The RT-2 recreates the behaviour of a rotary speaker with a spinning treble horn and a bass drum rotor, packed into a standard BOSS compact enclosure. A three-position Mode switch selects a vintage rotary voice or one of two modified tones: one with a wider tonal range that suits overdrive and distortion pedals, and one with sharper definition and stronger modulation for arpeggios and solos.
Slow and Fast knobs set the two rotor speeds, and a Rise/Fall Time switch sets how quickly the rotors move between them. Two lights show the virtual rotor speeds. The Drive knob adds tube-style saturation, or with a rear switch it sets the volume balance between treble and bass rotors. Drive and balance settings are remembered at power-up. The pedal switch has four operating modes.
There are mono/stereo inputs and outputs, with a standard stereo mode or separate wet and dry outputs. A CTL/EXP jack accepts up to two external footswitches or an expression pedal for speed, brake, level, drive and balance control. It runs on a 9 V battery or an optional PSA-series adaptor.
