The R1280T is a pair of powered bookshelf speakers built into a wooden cabinet that is intended to limit resonance and distortion. Each speaker has a 4-inch mid/bass driver and a 0.5-inch silk-diaphragm tweeter, split by a 2-way active crossover. Rated output is 21W + 21W RMS, listed as 42W in total, with a frequency response of 52Hz to 20kHz.
Two pairs of RCA inputs allow two audio sources to stay connected at once, so cables do not need to be swapped. Volume and other functions are controlled with knobs on the right-hand speaker's panel or with the supplied remote control. The front plate can be removed.
The speakers have no Bluetooth and are wired only. They suit computer and similar setups; they can also be used with a TV or home theatre, though they are mainly designed as computer speakers.
