The VCC401.2 is a horizontal center speaker built to match the Vela 2.0 floorstanding and bookshelf models. It uses a 2½-way bass-reflex layout with two 150 mm woofers that have AS-XR crystal membrane cones, and a JET 6 tweeter that is handcrafted in Kiel, Germany. The crossover points are 450 Hz and 2400 Hz.
The cabinet has a trapezoidal shape with softly curved surfaces, which is meant to limit resonance and diffraction. It is offered in black, white or walnut high-gloss finishes. The AS-XR cone is a faceted aluminum-sandwich construction.
The speaker is passive and connects to an external amplifier or AV receiver rated for 4 to 8 ohms. The recommended amplifier power is 40 to 250 W per channel. Sensitivity is 88.5 dB at 2.83 V/m, and the cabinet measures 191 x 653 x 233 mm and weighs 11.8 kg.
