Green Russian Big Muff Pi

The Green Russian Big Muff Pi is a reissue of the Big Muff that first appeared in the mid-1990s. It is an analog fuzz, distortion and sustainer circuit, known among guitarists and bassists for a heavy low end and a gritty, sizzling top. It comes in an army green enclosure styled after the original.

Three controls shape the sound. Volume sets the output level, Sustain sets the amount of sustain and distortion, and Tone sweeps from high treble to deep bass. A footswitch toggles the effect and a status LED lights when it is on. Switching is true bypass, so the signal path is left alone when the pedal is off.

Connections are a mono input jack and a mono output jack. The pedal runs from a 9V battery, which is supplied, and it draws 3mA. An optional 9.6VDC 200mA power adapter can be bought separately. The enclosure is small enough to fit easily on a crowded pedalboard.
