Description
This is a hand-built jumbo acoustic guitar in the SJ-200 shape. The top is Sitka spruce with hand-scalloped X-bracing, and the back and sides are walnut. The body has a traditional full depth, and a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish in Walnut Burst gives it a worn-in look and feel.
The utile neck has an Advanced Response profile, a walnut fingerboard with mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays, a Tusq nut and a 647.7 mm (25.5 in) scale. The neck is joined to the body with a compound dovetail joint set in hot hide glue. Hardware includes Grover Rotomatic tuners, a walnut moustache bridge with Tusq saddle and pins, and a tortoise J-200 pickguard.
For amplified use, a Baggs Element Bronze active under-saddle piezo system is controlled by a soundhole-mounted volume knob and outputs through a 1/4" endpin jack. A modern hardshell case is included. The maker lists this colour as no longer available.
