Description
The AZES31 is a compact electric guitar built around a poplar body and a maple neck with a jatoba fretboard. It has 22 medium frets, a 25" (635 mm) scale and a 250 mmR fretboard radius. These choices suit first-time players, younger players and those who prefer a shorter-scale instrument.
It carries three passive ceramic Essentials single-coil pickups, a five-way selector, a volume knob and a tone knob. A mini alter switch engages a two-hum tap mode, which combines pickups in series to imitate humbucker sounds. The maker calls this the dyna-MIX8 system and counts eight sound variations. Other details include an F106 bridge with Comfort round steel saddles, split-shaft Ibanez machine heads, an All Access neck joint and a one-piece mono-unit output jack.
The guitar is strung with D'Addario EXL110 strings (.010-.046) and has chrome hardware. It connects through a standard 1/4" output jack. Ibanez lists the M300C case and the IGB540-BK gig bag as recommended accessories.
