The iKeyboard 4X combines a 37-key keyboard of full-sized, semi-weighted keys with a single-channel DAW control surface. The keyboard has pitch bend and modulation wheels, octave and transpose buttons, and selectable velocity curves for the keys and pads.
The control section has a backlit LED touch fader that follows the DAW and re-syncs when the selected channel changes. It also has a push-and-turn encoder with an 11-segment LED ring, illuminated rec-enable, solo and mute buttons, six transport buttons, 18 assignable backlit buttons and a 3-segment LED display.
It connects over USB 2.0 and is class-compliant on Windows, macOS and iOS. A MIDI output jack and TRS inputs for expression and sustain pedals are fitted, and the sustain polarity can be reversed. Mackie Control and HUI protocols provide automatic mapping, with built-in presets for popular DAWs. Any control can be remapped with the included iMap software, which also handles firmware updates. The enclosure is metal and has a Kensington lock port.
