The iKeyboard 5S combines a velocity-sensitive 49-key keyboard with a 24-bit, 96/192 kHz USB audio interface and a Mackie Control / HUI controller section. A backlit touch fader follows the selected DAW channel and re-syncs its value when channels are switched. An encoder with an 11-segment LED ring, a 3-segment display, 18 assignable backlit buttons, channel buttons (record-enable, solo, mute) and six transport buttons handle hands-on DAW operation. A pitch and modulation wheel, octave buttons, a transpose button and several velocity curves for keys and pads cover playing.
The audio side has one mic input with its own gain, two 1/4" TRS line inputs and two 1/4" TRS outputs, plus a headphone output with assignable source and separate volume. Full-duplex operation is supported through DirectSound, WDM and ASIO 2.0. The ProDrive III software provides internal virtual routing and a plug-in hosting rack, and iMap software is used for mapping MIDI functions and for firmware updates over USB.
The unit connects by USB 2.0 high speed and also offers a MIDI output, expression and sustain pedal jacks and a Kensington lock port, all in a metal casing. Bundled software includes Bitwig 8Track, Dotec audio plugins, the Tracktion DAW Essentials Collection, Kilohearts Toolbox plugins and the Harrison 32c Vocal Intensity Processor.
