Korg PitchHawk-G2

The PitchHawk-G2 is a clip-style tuner that fastens to the headstock of a guitar or bass. It senses the vibration of the instrument with a piezo pickup, so it responds to the instrument itself rather than to other sound on stage. The display is a color LCD with a white backlight and a VA meter, with color-coded text and meter for quick reading.

Besides chromatic mode, it has dedicated guitar and bass modes that show the string number next to the note name. Flat tuning can be set in guitar and bass modes, and a capo setting is available in guitar mode. In guitar mode an indicator appears if the first string is tightened too far. Other functions are calibration for different concert pitches, auto power-off and a memory that keeps settings with the power off.

The battery holder and four direction-style buttons are on the rear of the body. The body folds flat for storage. A movable arm combined with a ball joint lets the tuner be angled as needed while the clip holds it in place on the headstock.
