The U505 IEM is a stereo in-ear monitoring set made up of a transmitter and a bodypack receiver, tuned to the 584–608 MHz range. The transmitter offers 96 channels and three selectable RF output levels of 2, 10 or 30 mW ERP, giving a range of more than 100 m. Transmitter and receiver can be synchronised over infrared.

The sound can be shaped with a 3-band EQ that has parametric mids, and a switchable limiter protects the ears. Operating modes are stereo, focus and mono. High-contrast OLED displays show settings, users can assign a name to their unit, and 10 custom presets can be stored. The bodypack has a volume control and three selectable squelch levels, and it runs for about 10 hours on two AA batteries.

The transmitter has a direct monitoring headphone output. Up to 12 systems can run at once in this frequency band. The U500 transmitter works with U300 IEM bodypacks. The set is packaged as the U505 IEM R receiver and U505 IEM T transmitter.
