This pedal recreates Marshall's first high-gain distortion pedal, which became associated with 1990s guitar music. The casing follows the original design, including the gold Shredmaster name and embossed Marshall logo, and is housed in a mild steel chassis. It is hand-built at the maker's factory in Bletchley, UK.
Sound shaping comes from five controls: Gain, Bass, Contour, Treble and Volume. These allow players to recreate the classic Shredmaster tone or set their own. The circuit is aimed at saturated rhythm sounds and lead playing with plenty of gain.
Connection is simple: one 1/4" jack input and one 1/4" jack output. The pedal runs from a 9V battery or a 9V DC power adaptor, which is not included. It measures 110 x 67 x 147 mm and weighs 0.7 kg without a battery. Finish is black and gold.
