Willen is a small portable speaker built around a single 2-inch full-range driver and two passive radiators in a sealed cabinet. It is driven by one 10 W Class D amplifier and plays in mono, with a rated frequency range of 100–20,000 Hz and a maximum level of 82 dB SPL at 1 m. The IP67 rating covers dust and immersion, and a rubber strap on the back lets it be hung or fixed to objects as well as stood or laid down.
A multi-directional control knob on the top handles power, play, pause, track skipping, volume and call answer or reject. A built-in microphone allows hands-free calls, and the speaker is described as the only one in the maker's portable range with a microphone. A separate Bluetooth button starts pairing. Battery life is 15+ hours from the built-in Li-ion cell, and a 20-minute charge gives about 3 hours of playback.
Willen connects over Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of about 10 m and has no wired input or Wi-Fi. The Marshall Bluetooth app for iOS and Android provides three equaliser presets and over-the-air updates; the speaker also works without the app, but the presets need it. It charges over USB-C.
