Modal Electronics Carbon8

Modal Electronics Carbon8 – 8-Voice Experimental Digital Synthesizer

The Carbon8 is an experimental digital synthesizer that takes sound design to new heights. With dual high-powered oscillator ‘XCore’ engines, advanced modulation, and an expressive 37-key aftertouch keyboard, it lets sound explorers craft evolving textures, bold leads, and immersive sequences—all in a road-ready, intuitive instrument.

Key Features

• XCore dual oscillators (56 cores each): Choose from 18 algorithms or 38 high-resolution wavetables, with wave-shaping, phase distortion, and wavefolding precision for rich sonic expression.
• Expansive filter palette: 34 morphable and static filter types—ranging from vintage emulations to vocal and phaser models—with drive and resonance control for tonal depth.
• Advanced modulation engine: Three LFOs with variable waveforms, three ADSR envelopes, and a 12-slot modulation matrix for dynamic, evolving patches.
• Powerful sequencer & arpeggiator: Polyphonic 512-step sequencer with real-time/step editing, 32-step arpeggiator, and motion recording for expressive performance flow.
• Premium playability: 37-note Fatar TP9/S keybed with aftertouch and X/Y joystick provides nuanced control and tactile feedback for expressive playing.
• Professional connectivity: MIDI In/Out (5-pin), USB-MIDI, sync I/O, expression and sustain pedal inputs, stereo audio in/out, and headphone output for seamless integration.
• MODALapp integration: Full editor, preset management, and system control via VST, AU, or standalone on Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.
