The M66 combines network streaming, digital-to-analogue conversion and analogue preamp control in one all-alloy chassis. Conversion is handled by an ESS Sabre ES9038PRO DAC and ES9822PRO ADC, and the volume control is analogue to keep channel balance consistent at all listening levels. An analogue direct mode with isolated signal paths is provided for external sources.
Streaming runs on BluOS, which gives access to music services, internet radio and personal libraries through the BluOS Controller App, in a single room or across several zones. Playback supports files up to 24-bit/192 kHz. Dirac Live Full Bandwidth room correction is included with a calibration microphone, and Dirac Live Bass Control is supported. A 7-inch colour touchscreen and the SRM1 remote handle local control.
Inputs cover MM/MC phono, HDMI eARC, AES/EBU, USB, optical, coaxial, RCA and XLR. Outputs are balanced and unbalanced, with four configurable subwoofer outputs and a dedicated headphone amplifier. Two MDC2 slots allow later expansion, and the unit is suited to pairing with power amplifiers such as the NAD M23 V2.
