The N4 is a four-channel controller for DJ software with its own mixer section, so it can mix external sources without a computer. Each channel can switch between a software deck and an external input such as a turntable, CD player or MP3 player, which allows two software decks to run alongside two external channels. Two microphones can also be connected.
Each deck has a large touch-sensitive wheel, a pitch fader with key-lock, loop controls, and effects and sampling controls. The mixer section has EQ and gain controls, and the controller sends 14-bit high-resolution MIDI. Dedicated video controls are included. Timecode vinyl or CDs can be used with turntables or CD players to control the software, and two NDX900 controllers or two TTXUSB turntables can be added for a four-platter setup.
The built-in USB audio interface is class compliant, so it works with Mac OS X, iOS and Windows without extra drivers. It can record both analog and digital sources. Outputs for a PA system include balanced XLR. Serato DJ Intro and a four-deck version of Virtual DJ LE are supplied.
