The DB1S-AII is a small powered two-way monitor in a 290mm-high cabinet. Its bass is loaded by an Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) with an effective length of 1.5m, which is meant to give deeper low end than ported or sealed boxes of similar size. A doped 140mm cast-alloy bass driver and a 27mm fabric soft-dome tweeter cross over at 2kHz.
The amplifier section is PMC's DS-001 Class D module, rated at 200W, up from 100W in the earlier module. It uses a single feedback loop that senses the speaker load and adjusts the response, so its behaviour does not depend on the load. The same module is used in the larger TB2S-AII.
The cabinet is suited to rooms where space is limited. In a 5.1 setup it can be combined with the TLE1S powered subwoofer. Registering a new unit within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years, subject to terms. A brochure, manual and drawing are available as downloads.
