The Xtension 9 Evolution is a belt-driven turntable built around a heavy precision aluminium platter with a TPE damping ring inside and a vinyl layer on top as the record surface. The platter runs on an inverted ceramic ball bearing with magnetic support, which takes load off the main bearing to keep bearing noise and resonance low.
The chassis stands on three magnetic feet that decouple the deck from the surface beneath it. Speed is changed between 33 and 45 rpm electronically with a button, and the motor is driven by a DC-powered AC generator for stable speed. The deck is fitted with a 9" one-piece carbon-fibre tonearm with 230 mm effective length and 8.5 g effective mass, and accepts cartridges weighing 4 to 14 g.
Finish options include hand-painted colours and real wood veneers, and the tonearm and cartridge can be chosen when configuring. Signal leaves through a Connect it E 5P to RCA phono cable, and an external power supply runs the motor. A record puck and dust cover are included.
