The R-07 is a pocket-sized handheld recorder with a built-in stereo microphone and a mic/aux input. It records WAV at 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz in 16 or 24-bit, as well as MP3 from 64 to 320 kbps, and can write WAV and MP3 files at the same time. Recordings go to a microSD card (SD and SDHC formats), and a card comes inserted in the unit.
Several features aim to prevent ruined takes. Scene memory loads sample rate, record mode, limiter, low cut and input level in one step, and any Scene can be adjusted and stored. Dual Recording captures a second, lower-level stereo file alongside the main one, and Hybrid Limiting can use that file to repair clipped sections automatically. A Rehearsal function sets input levels, and a tuner and metronome are included for musical use.
Bluetooth 4.0 supports aptX and aptX Low Latency for wireless headphones and speakers. The R-07 Remote app for iOS, watchOS and Android can control up to four units at once. A USB Micro-B port serves as a mass storage device and USB audio interface, and the recorder runs on two AA batteries or USB bus power. It comes in black, red or white.
