The TB-03 is a compact bass synthesizer and step sequencer that follows the TB-303's controls and workflow. Its sound comes from Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) modelling, with saw and square waveforms and knobs for tuning, cutoff, resonance, envelope mod, decay and accent. The sequencer offers Pitch, Time and a newer Step write mode, stores 96 patterns, and lets you switch between write and play modes while a pattern keeps running.
Several additions go beyond the original hardware: a four-character LED display that shows values, the current step and fine tempo (for example 125.5 BPM), plus shuffle. The effects section covers overdrive/distortion and delay with tape echo, digital delay and reverb options. A built-in mini-speaker allows playing without external monitoring.
For connections, the unit has MIDI IN and OUT, a Micro-B USB port carrying both audio and MIDI, CV and Gate outputs for analog and modular gear, a trigger input to drive the sequencer externally, and a stereo mix input. It runs on four AA batteries or USB bus power, and the optional K-25m keyboard unit is supported.
