Description

The UA-4FX is a compact USB audio and MIDI interface for computer recording. It converts audio at up to 24-bit/96 kHz and offers one stereo pair of record and playback channels. Inputs cover a balanced XLR mic socket with +48 V phantom power, a 1/4 inch guitar/mic jack, a miniature-jack mic input and RCA line inputs.

Onboard effects run at 32-bit internal processing and are grouped into mastering, listening, performance and tube-amp simulator sets. They include a tube mic-preamp simulator, multi-band compressor/limiter, noise suppressor, reverb, center cancel, amp simulator, distortion, chorus and delay. A MIDI in/out pair uses fast-processing technology for low-latency, stable MIDI transfer.

The unit connects by a single USB Type B cable that carries audio and MIDI and also supplies power, drawing 360 mA, so no AC adapter is needed. Optical digital input and output are provided, and 5.1 surround passthrough (Dolby Digital/DTS) over the optical output works on Windows XP only. Drivers support WDM, ASIO 2.0 and Mac OS X Core Audio.
