DH5

The DH5 is a headset-style subminiature condenser microphone with an omnidirectional pickup pattern. Its small 5 mm capsule allows discreet placement and gives better gain-before-feedback. The sound is described as neutral and full, aimed at film, broadcast, speech, theater and live performance.

It uses a 1.6 mm Shure Plex cable with a dual redundant ground that doubles as a secondary shield. The cable resists kinks and memory effect, and it can be painted with typical theater paints, pens and polish. The microphone is rated IP57 for dust and water resistance. A Presence Cap is supplied for a boost of 3-4 dB near 10 kHz, adding vocal clarity.

The listed model, DH5B/O-MTQG, is black and has an MTQG (LEMO3) connector for wireless transmitters. The line is also offered in Cocoa and Tan, and with a TA4F (mTQG) or LEMO connector. The kit includes a case, two windscreens, a tie clip and a locking collar.
