The MVL is a small clip-on lavalier microphone with an omnidirectional condenser capsule. It attaches to a collar or lapel and connects directly to a mobile device's headphone jack, so it can capture speech for interviews, lectures, public speaking and videography without extra recording hardware.
The microphone uses a 1/8" (3.5 mm) TRRS connector and works with iOS and Android devices that have a TRRS 3.5 mm jack. Devices without one can use an appropriate CTIA-compliant adapter. It is compatible with the ShurePlus MOTIV mobile recording app and other iOS audio and video recording apps, and MOTIV can be used to edit recordings and share files by text, email and other services.
The design is slim and discreet. The package includes a foam windscreen, a metal clothing clip and a drawstring carrying pouch. A Rycote Mini Windjammer (AMVL-FUR) is available as an optional accessory.
