The UH-7000 is a 4-in/4-out USB audio interface that can also work without a computer as a mic preamp and AD/DA converter. Its HDIA mic preamps are rated at -128dBu EIN, with a 117dB signal-to-noise ratio and 0.0009% or less distortion measured from mic input to the converter. Conversion uses a Burr-Brown PCM4220 for A/D and a PCM1795 for D/A, at sample rates up to 192kHz and 24-bit resolution.
A built-in DSP mixer provides low-latency monitoring and can switch between multitrack and stereo-mix modes. Recording and monitoring levels are set independently, and line or digital outputs can be chosen from the mixer. DSP effects include a compressor, noise suppressor, de-esser, exciter, EQ and limiter/low cut, which can be applied to inputs, outputs or the master. A send reverb offers hall, room, live, studio and plate types. The link line function allows volume control of powered monitors.
On the front panel are large input level knobs, two 20-segment LED meters, +48V phantom power and a 1/4" headphone output. XLR connectors carry analog line outputs and digital I/O in AES3/AES-EBU or S/PDIF format. The unit connects to Mac and Windows computers over USB 2.0 and is housed in an aluminum body. It is listed as discontinued.
