The US-125M is a USB 2.0 audio interface with a four-channel mixer section. A microphone input, a guitar input, a stereo RCA line input and the stereo playback signal from the computer each have their own level control. The combined mix is sent back to the computer over USB, which suits streaming and broadcasting over the internet.
The microphone can be connected either to a balanced XLR/TRS combination of jacks on the rear or to an unbalanced 3.5 mm mini jack on the front, which supplies plug-in power. A switchable limiter and a signal/overload indicator help manage input levels. Monitoring is handled in hardware without latency, through an RCA monitor output and a 3.5 mm headphone output that has its own level control.
The unit draws power from the USB bus, so no AC adapter is needed, and it works with the standard Windows (WDM) and Mac OS X (Core Audio) drivers without a dedicated driver install. Audio resolution is up to 16 bit/48 kHz. The housing is aluminum. The mixer can also be used without a computer as a simple stand-alone mixer.
