Description

M pairs two wavetable oscillators with an analogue 24 dB/Oct low-pass filter (SSI 2144 improved ladder type, with resonance and saturation) and a true stereo analogue VCA per voice with panning. The oscillators work in a Classic Microwave I mode (16-bit tables reduced to 8-bit, no hard sync or ring modulation) or a Modern Microwave II/XT mode (band-limited wavetables, hard sync). It has 96 factory wavetables and 32 slots for user wavetables.

Modulation comes from two LFOs and four envelope generators, including an 8-point loopable wave envelope and a freely assignable 4-point envelope. There is no classic modulation matrix; modulation is set up directly on the relevant display page. The arpeggiator has 16 preset patterns, a chord mode and MIDI clock sync. Presets cover the classic Microwave sound sets, with 1024 sounds in 8 banks of 128 included.

The rear panel has a stereo main output, four stereo aux outputs for routing the four multitimbral parts separately, and a headphone output with its own volume knob. MIDI is available over 5-pin DIN In/Out/Thru and USB 2.0. An SD card slot handles firmware updates, sound banks and user wavetables.
