The H4nSP is a battery-powered handheld recorder that captures up to four tracks at once to SD or SDHC cards. It records BWF-compliant WAV up to 24-bit/96 kHz or MP3, and offers auto-record, pre-record, marks, overdubbing with punch-in/out, and internal mixdown. Onboard effects include compression/limiting, low-cut filtering, modulation, reverb/delay and amp models, and there are also a chromatic tuner and a metronome.
A built-in X/Y stereo microphone, adjustable between 90° and 120°, is joined by two combo inputs for mic, line or instrument sources with 24 V or 48 V phantom power. A stereo mini jack takes an external mic or line source and supplies plug-in power. Monitoring is through a headphone/line output with its own volume control or the built-in reference speaker.
A USB port lets the unit act as a card reader or as a 2-in/2-out audio interface for PC and Mac. It runs on two AA batteries or an optional AC adapter, and can be mounted on a stand, tripod or a DSLR with an optional hot shoe adapter. A case, batteries and download licences for Cubase LE and WaveLab LE are included.
