Citadel Alchemist is a monophonic Eurorack module built around four oscillators with FM feedback, waveform mixing, ring modulation, track and hold, stereo noise, a stereo filter and a transient shaper. A main TIMBRE sweep moves through five modes (Filter, FM, Hypersine, Supersaw and Glitchnoise), refined by a RATIO control. The ENV macro shapes decay and attack, and at its extremes it enters a drone mode or morphs between modes.
Pitch comes from a quantized NOTE input with selectable scales, or from a PLAY input that adds the third, fifth and octave above for arpeggios. Two PITCH MOD inputs accept patched control signals. A tempo-synced pattern generator provides CV and gate outputs, and the LFO offers triangle and pulse outputs that can be synced, reset or free-running. A dual FX section pairs a delay on the left with a chorus, flanger and distortion macro on the right. Rhythms, scales and sequencer step counts are set in a web-based editor.
The module has stereo DC-coupled inputs and outputs, a headphone output, analog sync in and out, and a tempo generator with tap tempo. TRS MIDI input is on the front panel. USB-C on the back carries USB MIDI in and out, firmware updates and sample uploads. The firmware is open source, and the panel has blank labels for custom versions.
