Poly D

The POLY D is a four-voice analog synthesizer with 37 full-size keys. Its signal path uses VCO, VCF and VCA circuits based on the original 'D Type' design, with matched transistors and JFETs, 0.1% thin film resistors and polyphenylene sulphide capacitors. A dedicated analog LFO provides triangle and square waves.

The four oscillators offer a choice of waveforms and cover a six-octave range from LO to 2'. A switch selects mono, poly or unison operation, so the same instrument can handle solo lines, chords and thick layered voices. The 24 dB ladder filter has cutoff, emphasis and contour controls, a low-pass or high-pass mode switch, and attack, decay and sustain controls for shaping cutoff over time. The title also lists a BBD stereo chorus, distortion, and a 32-step sequencer with arpeggiator.

There are 84 controls on the panel. Connectivity includes MIDI in, out and thru over USB and MIDI DIN, aftertouch and velocity outputs with their own volume controls, internal and external V-Trig I/O, and external outputs for loudness, filter, oscillator and modulation sources.
