The POWERNODE 2 is a wireless streaming integrated amplifier from Bluesound. It does everything the NODE 2 streamer does and adds an internal amplifier, so it can power a pair of speakers without a separate amp. The maker says the amplifier is able to drive demanding loudspeakers.
Audio is handled by the HybridDigital amplifier and a 32-bit DAC running at up to 192kHz, with 8x oversampling and a 32-bit architecture. A 1GHz multi-core ARM Cortex processor runs the platform. Built-in services include TIDAL, Spotify and Qobuz plus internet radio, and music can also be played from a local library or a USB NAS drive. Several Bluesound players can be grouped to stream music around the home.
Control is through the BluOS Controller app on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Windows and Mac OS X, by touch controls on the unit, with the optional Bluesound RC1 remote, or by voice using the BluOS Voice Skill with Amazon Alexa. The unit came in Black or White and is listed as no longer for sale.
