The Debut ConneX DCB41 is a pair of powered bookshelf speakers with 50 W per channel of built-in amplification. A 4-1/2" polypropylene woofer with a wide-roll surround and a 3/4" soft-dome tweeter on a custom waveguide handle the audio. The waveguide is intended to control dispersion for better imaging and balance.
Bass is supported by a rear-facing bass reflex port in an S configuration, which is meant to extend low frequencies and reduce port noise. An XBass enhancer adds low-end extension and can be switched off. A built-in phono preamp can be switched on or off, so a turntable connects over standard RCA cables, and a ground screw is provided.
Sources connect through HDMI ARC (with CEC, so the TV remote controls volume), optical, analog/phono, USB and Bluetooth with aptX. The USB input plays from a Windows or Mac computer at up to 96 kHz / 24-bit, with volume controlled from the computer. A subwoofer/speaker output, an infrared remote and USB firmware updates are also included.
