The DFR52 is a floorstanding speaker in the Debut Reference series, which builds on ELAC's Debut range with a revised cabinet, new drivers and updated finishes. It uses a 1-inch soft-dome tweeter with a waveguide and a more open grille, plus three 5-1/4-inch woofers with aramid-fibre cones on a cast chassis.
The MDF cabinet (CARB2 rated) has a full perimeter brace joining the top, bottom and side panels to reduce cabinet vibration. Bass is vented through three dual flared slot ports, which are intended to give higher bass output with less port noise. The crossover points are 90 Hz and 2200 Hz, and the stated frequency response runs from 42 Hz to 35 kHz.
Connection is through 5-way metal binding posts. The nominal impedance is 6 ohms and sensitivity is 87 dB at 2.83 V/1 m, with a maximum power input of 140 W. It comes in two finishes: a black baffle with walnut cabinet, or a white baffle with oak cabinet.
