This pedal is a limited-edition reissue of the analog Echoflanger that Adrian Belew used from his early work onward. It is a bucket-brigade time and pitch modulator that covers chorus and flanger sounds as well as warped, self-oscillating tones.
The MODE knob selects from six settings: Filter Matrix, Flange, Chorus + Flange, Chorus, Slap Back, and Slap Back + Filter Matrix. Chorus + Flange follows the in-between position Belew found on his original unit, and Slap Back + Filter Matrix is also new. Controls are FEEDBACK, RATE, WIDTH, TUNE and VOLUME. RATE and WIDTH are inactive in Filter Matrix, Slap Back and Slap Back + Filter Matrix, where TUNE sets filter frequencies or echo time. A rear BLEND switch removes the dry signal for stronger vibrato-type effects.
The pedal has one input and two outputs (mono/left and right) for stereo use, a soft footswitch with status LED, and true bypass through mechanical relays. It runs from the included 9.6VDC power adapter.
