The Bass Micro Synth is an all-analog effects pedal built specifically for bass guitar. A four-voice mixer combines a sub octave, the original signal, an octave up and a square wave. The square wave can also serve as a fuzzy, distortion-like tone.
Shaping is handled by a three-pole analog resonant filter. Start and Stop frequency sliders set where the sweep begins and ends, and a Rate control sets how quickly it moves, so the filter can travel from low to high or high to low. A Trigger control sets the input level at which the filter engages, Resonance adjusts the sharpness of the filter, and an Attack Delay control fades notes in for bowed or swell-like effects.
The pedal has a single input and a single output on quarter-inch jacks, a footswitch with a status LED, and true bypass switching. It sits in a compact die-cast chassis and runs from a supplied power adapter.
