The DAC-Z6 decodes digital audio using two ES9068 converter chips, one for each channel, in a fully balanced architecture with a differential amplifier circuit. It handles up to DSD512 native and PCM at 768 kHz and 32 bit, and the optical, coaxial and USB inputs support full MQA decoding and rendering.
USB input is handled by a third-generation XU316 chip, and two low-jitter clock oscillators are processed synchronously. A low-ripple power supply feeds the circuitry. The built-in headphone amplifier is designed to drive headphones from 16 to 300 ohms.
For wireless playback, a Qualcomm QCC5125 module provides Bluetooth 5.0. A 3-inch LCD screen displays several VU meter modes, and a dedicated mobile phone app is provided for controlling the unit.
