The Vintage Classic VIII is a floorstanding loudspeaker that sits above the SM version in the Vintage Classic range. It uses a 200mm point-source IsoFlare driver with a multi-fibre cone and FyneFlute surround, paired with a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter. A downward-firing BassTrax Tractrix diffuser port in a twin-cavity enclosure supports low-frequency output from a cabinet of modest size.
The rectangular cabinet is walnut veneered over high density fibreboard with extensive internal bracing. The baffle has anodised gold trim and a dedicated panel with analogue control knobs, shown alongside frequency response graphs. These knobs adjust high frequency energy and the presence band by up to 3dB. A woven cloth grille completes the front.
The crossover is a bi-wired passive low-loss design with a 1.8kHz crossover point, so the speaker can be connected with either single or bi-wire cabling. Sensitivity is 91dB with an 8 ohm nominal impedance, and the stated recommended amplifier power is 30 to 200 watts RMS. The speaker is sold as a pair.
