The Dragon is a pressure-gradient condenser microphone built around a large-diaphragm transducer. Its cardioid pickup pattern is intended to isolate the sound source and reduce feedback, which makes it usable as either a main or a supporting microphone across different recording situations. Vocals and acoustic instruments are the stated applications.
The capsule is shock-mounted to limit handling and mechanical noise. The body is a metal die-cast construction, and a heavy-duty suspension mount is supplied for stand use.
The microphone is powered by external phantom power in the 36-52 volt range, so it needs a preamp, mixer or audio interface that supplies phantom power. User manuals are available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
