The Martian is a 35 mm large-diaphragm condenser with a pressure-gradient transducer and a cardioid pickup pattern, which helps isolate the sound source and reject feedback. The capsule is hand-built and shock-mounted internally. The circuit uses Class A discrete electronics, aimed at low self-noise and durability, and the voicing is described as warm and classic, suited to enriching low frequencies and refining strong transients.
The microphone has a metal body and a swiveling head that can be angled toward the sound source. A custom cradle adds further shock isolation and holds the supplied metal pop filter, which reduces plosives and unwanted vibration. Frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with a maximum SPL of 134 dB at 0.5% THD and a dynamic range of 123.5 dB.
It connects through a 3-pin XLR male output and needs external 48 V phantom power, drawing under 3 mA. Manuals are offered in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish.
