The Ci3120QLM-THX is a flush-mounted in-wall speaker from KEF's Q Series, certified THX Select for medium-sized theatres and living rooms. It uses a 3-way design with two 120mm bass drivers, a 100mm Uni-Q midrange and a 19mm vented aluminium dome tweeter. The Uni-Q array works as a single point source to widen the listening area and spread sound more evenly, and Metamaterial Absorption Technology is used to soak up unwanted sound from behind the tweeter.
The crossovers are tuned so each driver handles its own range, with crossover points at 440Hz and 2.75kHz. The bass drivers are designed for long excursion with low distortion. An ultra-thin bezel and a paintable magnetic metal grille let the speaker blend into the wall. The enclosure carries an IP64 dust and water rating.
The speaker is wired to an amplifier with speaker cable run to the cut-out. A cut-out template is included, and the speaker fits wall thicknesses from 6 mm to 36 mm. Recommended amplifier power is 25 to 250 W, with a high-pass filter set between 35Hz and 100Hz.
