The DB1i is a small passive two-way speaker that uses PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading instead of a ported or sealed enclosure. A 140mm doped bass driver on a cast alloy chassis is paired with a 27mm soft-dome tweeter, with the crossover set at 2kHz. The ATL design is intended to give deeper bass from a small cabinet.
It is suited to stereo or surround systems in small and medium rooms and can serve as a discreet surround channel alongside other models in the iseries range. It can also be combined with the TLE1 active subwoofer. The cabinet measures 290 x 155 x 234mm plus grille and weighs 4.5kg.
Connection is through two pairs of 4mm sockets, allowing bi-wiring or bi-amping. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms, and the recommended amplifier power is 40-200W. A 20-year warranty is available if the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
