The QI80CP is the largest model in the Q Install in-ceiling range. It pairs an 8-inch woofer with a 1-inch (25 mm) swivel tweeter and is built to fill a room from the ceiling. The moisture-proof build allows use in bathrooms, and the enclosure uses UL94 flame-retardant materials.
A switch on the crossover adjusts the high frequencies by plus or minus 3 dB. The bezel and grille clip into place magnetically, and the grille geometry is tuned to balance sound and a discreet look. A circular grille option is available. The unit is under 97 mm deep and has a 281 mm round outer size.
Fitting uses a supplied cutter guide to mark a 248 mm hole. Four clamps, screwed from the front, hold the speaker in the ceiling. Terminals have push-open connectors that can be operated with one hand. The speaker ships with an installation template and fitting instructions.
