Description
Waza-Air is a pair of wireless over-ear headphones with a built-in amp and effects engine. It offers five amp types taken from the Katana series, one of them a full-range voice for bass or acoustic-electric guitar, and more than 50 effects that are edited in the BOSS Tone Studio app for iOS and Android. Six tone settings can be stored and recalled with buttons on the headphones.
A gyro sensor follows head movement and drives the spatial processing. Three ambience modes are available: Surround, Static and Stage. In Stage mode, music streamed over Bluetooth plays from the virtual backline alongside the amp. Song volume and playback can be controlled from the headphones. The headphones also include an onboard tuner with audible guide tones.
The guitar signal travels from the supplied WL-T transmitter to the headphones over a 2.4 GHz proprietary digital link with low latency. Bluetooth handles music streaming and app connection. The optional EV-1-WL expression pedal and FS-1-WL footswitch can control functions assigned in the app. The headphones use 50 mm drivers and fold flat for transport; the battery is rechargeable and powers down automatically when idle.
